10 main features of Sekiro

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a new game by Hidetaka Miyazakii and From Software (Dark Souls, Bloodborne) is going be released on PC and consoles on March 22. If you have not followed news about it, let us tell you the main features of the upcoming game.

Sekiro — third-person hack n’ slasher with role-playing elements. Set in 16-century Japan, the game will tell us about feudal wars.

Protagonist is a shinobi nicknamed Wolf, serving as a bodyguard of a young lord kidnapped by enemies. During the fight, the Wolf loses his hand… but promises to return his lord.

The Wolf has a prosthesis outfitted with various devices including hatchet, shuriken, umbrella shield and last but not least grappling hook.

In short, the prosthesis is the hero’s most dangerous weapon. Just like Nero from Devil May Cry 5.

“Since the Wolf is shinobi stealth is going to be a significant part of the game. Even if you got a katana, you risk losing your head, as you won’t have enough hit points for all opponents.

So get used to hiding in the bushes, jumping down from the roof, hiding here behind the door. For sure, the bosses will require you to find more offensive tactics.

Fighting bosses will take place in isolated arenas so the player will have to come up with something cleverer than just running away or using grappling hook.

The bosses are going to be really hard. Even mid-bosses will make you sweating.

Instead of respawning at the checkpoint, the player will have ability to be revived once fighting strong enemies, which probably will make gameplay way more dynamic.

If you get killed by common enemies you can be revived any times as long as you have enough revive tokens.

No more familiar stamina bar in Sekiro. The developers came up with something different — Posture Bar. Both player and the enemies will have it.

Posture Bar builds up when fighter takes damage or doesn’t block the attack. As soon as the Posture Bar gets full, the warrior can killed by one hit.

Moreover you will get the ability to dodge and in general, the Wolf is much more dexterous than Dark Souls characters.

Defeating the enemies, you get experience and money.

Finally, we can talk about the RPG elements. The experience is spent on unlocking skills.

For now, we know about the three Skill Trees in Sekiro: Shinobi, Samurai and Prosthetic Arm. So you will have a lot of freedom building your character.

Sekiro is a fully single player game.

And one more thing. Probably you remember the fires from Dark Souls. So, instead of them Sekiro has idols that would help you to save your progress. Opponents of the location respawn excluding the bosses of course.

Idols also serve as teleports. They transfer the Wolf to the hub location, where you can learn techniques and discover new skills.
